Video: Reforming Math Pathways at California’s Community Colleges

Developmental education is one of the largest impediments to student success in California’s community colleges. In this video, Olga Rodríguez of the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) presents findings from a recent PPIC report on developmental math reforms. Her presentation is followed by a panel discussion featuring Nikki Edgecombe, senior research scientist at CAPR and CCRC; Laura Metune, vice chancellor of external relations at the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office; and Myra Snell, professor of mathematics at Los Medanos College and co-founder, California Acceleration Project. The moderator is Hans Johnson, center director and senior fellow at the PPIC Higher Education Center.
