What Does the Research Say about Effective Placement?

CCRC Senior Research Scholar Elisabeth Barnett will describe the reasons to consider the use of multiple measures assessment (MMA) for placement and how an MMA system can be structured. She will also address some common concerns about using multiple measures, especially high school GPA. Finally, she will share selected results from the CAPR experimental research done in partnership with SUNY colleges, where researchers studied the use of a data-analytics approach to multiple measures assessment and placement and found that this approach improves student outcomes.
