Maxine Roberts

As a principal at Education Commission of the States, Maxine Roberts provides expertise on achieving equity in outcomes and supporting the learning experiences of marginalized students across the P-20 spectrum. She has dedicated her career to advancing system-changing, equity-focused initiatives that promote access, persistence, and credential completion among marginalized students in higher education. Prior to joining Education Commission of the States, Roberts directed after-school and college-preparatory programs, worked with community college faculty to improve their course outcomes in developmental education, and studied the factors that foster success for students of color in community college developmental math courses.
