Kathi Cook
Kathi Cook is the manager of course programs for the K-12 education, strategy, and services team at the Charles A. Dana Center at the University of Texas at Austin. Cook provides leadership and direction to the Dana Center’s innovative technology-enabled course program work for grades 6–12. This work has included the launch of the 2014 Texas middle school and 2015 Texas high school courses for state adoption and the launch of Transition to College Mathematics, an intervention for students at risk of graduating high school without being ready for college mathematics. Cook manages relationships with commercial technology partners and with external authors, reviewers, and editors.
Before joining the Dana Center, Cook spent 19 years teaching mathematics at the university, high school, and middle school levels. She was recognized with several awards for teaching excellence and was a five-time nominee for a Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Cook holds an MEd in curriculum and instruction and a BS in education from Midwestern State University.
