Denise King
Denise King serves as vice president for academic affairs at Cleveland State Community College, in Cleveland, Tennessee. Following several institutional reform efforts to improve student success, retention, and completion on campus, the Tennessee Board of Regents named Cleveland State the system’s first college of the year, recognizing it as the top performer of 40 community and technical colleges in the state. King regularly gives presentations on aspects of the guided pathways model and serves as peer support to other community colleges engaging in this reform work. King has nearly 25 years of higher education experience as a faculty member and academic administrator in California, Washington, Missouri, and Tennessee. She earned a PhD in drama and humanities from Stanford University.
