Previously, Almy served as Illinois\u2019s director for transitional math and led the statewide implementation of transitional math courses. Prior to her administrative work, Almy was a mathematics professor with 20 years of experience in high school and college classrooms. She earned a BS in mathematics education from Southern Illinois University and an MS in pure mathematics from Northern Illinois University.
