Conference FAQs

Registration

Yes. Space is limited, and we expect registration to be full before November, so we won’t be taking walk-in registrations.

The last day to register is November 20th—but we recommend you register sooner, since we expect the conference to sell out.

The only modified registration rate offered is for federal employees ($75, meals not included).

You may pay using a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express) or by check.

Make checks payable to “Teachers College, Columbia University” and mail for receipt by October 28 to:

CAPR Conference Registration
Attn:  Sarah Phillips
Box 174, 525 W. 120 St.
Teachers College, Columbia University
New York, NY  10027

You can edit your registration details through the link in your confirmation email.

To cancel your registration, send a written request to capr_admin@tc.columbia.edu by October 28. A $5.00 processing fee may be deducted from your refund, which will be issued within 3–4 weeks after the conference. CAPR is unable to honor any refund requests received after October 28.

If after registering you find you are unable to attend, you are welcome to send a colleague in your place at no additional charge. Please notify CAPR by email if you wish to transfer your registration to a colleague and include the colleague’s email address.

CAPR assumes no liability in the event that the conference is canceled, rescheduled, or postponed and is not responsible for any nonrefundable transportation, accommodation, or other costs incurred by registrants. If you have made a hotel reservation, you will be responsible for contacting the hotel to cancel it.

There’s no need to preregister. Breakout session attendance is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Yes. The following photo and video release is included in our registration process.

By entering the premises of the 2019 CAPR conference on November 21–22, you consent to your image and voice being recorded, videotaped, and photographed, and you consent to their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction by Teachers College (TC) and its affiliates for public relations, news articles, telecasts, education, advertising, research, inclusion on websites, fundraising, or any other purpose. You further grant TC the right to reproduce in any manner and media whatsoever any recordings made by TC of your image; voice; and all instrumental, musical, or other sound effects produced by you. You release TC; its students, officers and employees; and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, or publication of said video and sound recordings and photographs.

You waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any exhibition, broadcasting, or other publication of these recordings and photographs, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such exhibition, broadcasting, or other publication. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any video or sound recording or photo taken by TC or the person or entity designated by it. All negatives and positives, whether prints, video, film, or sound recording, are the property of TC or the person or entity designated by it, solely and completely. By selecting “yes” below, you certify and represent that you are of full age and have read the foregoing. You fully understand the meaning and effect and thereof, intending to be legally bound.
